Zara Tindall appeared effortlessly stylish as she put her horse through his paces during the Vets Inspection ahead of the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials. The daughter of Princess Anne arrived at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire ahead of the annual event, which officially begins this week. Dressed in a light brown button-up jacket and white trousers, Zara completed her relaxed look with black and white trainers as she trotted alongside her horse.
The Blenheim Palace Horse Trials begin tomorrow and continue until Sunday. The Dressage phase is scheduled to run from Thursday to Friday, while the Cross-country phase begins on Saturday. Zara, 45, has competed at the prestigious equestrian event several times and will take part again this year.
Competing With Casper
The royal mother-of-three will compete alongside her grey gelding Classicals Euro Star, affectionately known as Casper. Zara first purchased the talented Irish Sport Horse in 2021, having previously co-owned him with Judith Luff. Her appearance at the Vets Inspection came as she prepared for another appearance at the annual competition.
Zara is a serious international equestrian competitor and has developed a lifelong passion for horses. Her love of the sport came from her late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, as well as her mother, Princess Anne. She is regularly seen attending equestrian events around the world, both while competing and as a spectator.
Equestrian Career
Zara is also an Olympic silver medallist and has achieved significant success in equestrian competition. In 2005, she won individual and team gold on Toytown at the European Championships. She has also previously been crowned BBC Sports Personality of the Year and has been nicknamed the royal Olympian.
Princess Anne was the first member of the British Royal Family to compete in the Olympic Games. A keen horsewoman, she rode the Queen's horse, Goodwill, in the three-day equestrian event, finishing 13th in the jumping section and 24th overall. Although she did not win a medal, Princess Anne was made a Member of the International Olympic Committee in 1988 and later accepted the Olympic flame in Athens ahead of the 2012 Games.
Zara eventually followed her mother's Olympic path and won a silver medal for Team GB when she competed at the London 2012 Games. She had missed the 2004 Athens Games and Beijing 2008 because of injuries, but returned to Olympic competition when the Games were held in England.
Olympic Silver Medal
Zara competed with her 11-year-old horse, High Kingdom, at the London Olympics, helping Team GB bring home a silver medal. Her husband, Mike Tindall, praised the achievement at the time, saying that Zara's Olympic silver ranked extremely highly in his view, comparing it with his own World Cup medal.
He noted the expectations surrounding the London Games and highlighted the performance of Zara and the Team GB eventing team. He also described the narrow margins between gold and silver and said that, for him, the Olympics was the number one sporting occasion in the world.
Cornbury House Horse Trials
Zara's appearance at Blenheim Palace follows her attendance at the Cornbury House Horse Trials, where she joined the Duchess of Edinburgh. Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edo Mapelli Mozzi, also made a rare public appearance at the Oxfordshire event over the weekend.
Beatrice, 38, wore a green lace dress by Ulla Johnson with a velvet green Philip Cleak Blazer by BYAN. She paired the outfit with Givenchy boots and small hoop earrings, while Edo wore a blue shirt and waistcoat with light green trousers and a baker boy cap.
Beatrice was photographed showing affection towards her husband as they stood together at the event. She was also joined by her cousin Zara and her aunt Sophie for the annual occasion, which brings together horses and riders competing in dressage, cross country and show jumping.
Zara and Sophie warmly embraced while posing for a photograph. Zara wore blue jeans from Citizens of Humanity with a Fairfax and Favor cross-body bag, while Sophie, 61, wore a Soler London jacket and skirt with Penelope Chilvers boots and Giulia Barela earrings.
Blenheim Palace Horse Trials Ahead

Zara is set to compete with her grey gelding Classicals Euro Star, known as Casper, after bringing him through the Vets Inspection.
With the Dressage phase beginning on Thursday and the Cross-country phase following on Saturday, Zara Tindall is once again taking part in one of the prestigious equestrian events she has competed in several times. Her appearance continues a long association with competitive horse riding that has seen her become an Olympic silver medallist and an accomplished international equestrian competitor.
