Sienna Miller has spoken about her experience of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum recovery and becoming a mother of three. Now 44, the actor welcomed her third child, a baby boy, with partner Oli Green in May 2026.
From Emergency Caesarean To Natural Labour
Miller’s first child, Marlowe, was born after a 27-hour labour that ended in an emergency Caesarean section. She later described the period after returning home as surreal and felt there was too little attention on postpartum support at the time.
Her second daughter, born in December 2024, brought a very different experience. Miller described that postpartum period as peaceful and supported, despite the hormonal changes that followed birth.
For her third child, Miller wanted a natural labour despite having previously had two Caesarean sections. With support from Dr Gowri Motha and the Gentle Birth Method, she achieved the birth she had hoped for.
Finding Greater Support After Birth
Miller also planned carefully for postpartum recovery by working with The Tenth, which provided food, advice, help with belly binding and hands-on care at home. She described the support as invaluable and stressed the importance of caring for a mother’s wellbeing as well as the baby’s.
The transition was not entirely easy. Four and a half weeks after giving birth, Miller travelled to film an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, but found the experience too difficult. She subsequently reduced the remainder of her schedule and reflected on the importance of learning to say no during motherhood.
Becoming A Mother Of Three
Miller had once believed that she might have only one child, but the arrival of her younger children came as an unexpected and joyful change. She said she had always felt that Marlowe would value having siblings.
Looking back on motherhood, Miller emphasises the importance of having women around for support. She describes birth as a deeply instinctive experience and believes community is particularly important during this period of life.
Sienna Miller’s Postpartum Perspective
Sienna Miller’s experience with her third baby brought the natural labour she had hoped for, alongside a stronger focus on postpartum care and support. Her reflections also highlight how demanding the early weeks of motherhood can be, while recognising the moments that can make the experience feel easier.
